Thanks so much for this. Makes me feel much less alone. I've been an educator for almost 20 years now. I returned from teaching overseas 3 years ago. After being away for fifteen years I am still kind of in shock as to how much things have changed. Seems like no one's in charge and no one wants to talk about anything seriously. No more professional development. All activity and behavior revolves around irrelevant testing. District offices are sources of antagonism instead of support, and the constant background of potential violence is always in the ever present . . .
