Poem: Nick Telfer

Breakfast included.

On the terrace of the hotel,
Overlooking the yachts of good men,
Those who wished to be good
Ate a buffet breakfast
Of fresh fruit: kiwi, watermelon, cantaloupe, peeled orange,
Numerous cereals with a number of milks,
The juices of grapefruits, apples, oranges, peaches and nectarines,
A spacious hot buffet: beans, eggs, bacon, sausage,
Cold meats: jamon iberico, york ham, salami,
Cheeses, quince jelly, sliced tomatoes,
Many types of bread roll in a variety of shapes,
Some local typicities: omelette, sobrasada, fuet,
A table with nineteen black lacquered boxes, each with a different pastry:
Freshly baked almond tart, chocolate cake, muffins,
Whilst smiling ladies with their backs to the sea
Removed the dirty cups and plates.
