Yes, we’re looking to add an Art/Videos categories editor as well as a Reviews editor. And even though we’re pretty full up right now on regular, full-time contributor we might be tempted, at some point soon, to add a person or two. (Hedgehogs or rabbits too, of course). So, please watch for announcements.  And it’s not just about eating ice cream. Well, yes, it’s a lot about that. An awful lot.

But, anyways, here is some more info

Art/Video Editor:

We’re looking for someone to handle our Art/Video categories. This would mean handling incoming submissions, soliciting artists for submissions, and drafting up call-for-submissions posts.

This person ideally should have good experience/background/knowledge of Art and/or Videos. Or just have good taste! And, of course, like ice cream. (That’s a must, really, that’s a must). Would be very helpful for this person to know or at least be knowledgeable about lots of artists and their work.

This person should also ideally have some experience with drafting up WordPress posts as well as some decent level of proficiency with graphic design (basic photo editor skills would probably be enough, actually). This person should of course be able to draft up better posts than the middlingly-talented Rauan Klassnik. (Rauan loves ice cream but he’s not especially talented. Not talented at all, really. A real hack! But he does like ice cream, “in large amounts.” And he says that “counts.” ). Please see the Art and Videos categories for examples of posts Rauan has drafted up.

Besides handling Art/Video submissions and the drafting up of subsequent posts this person will also be able (within reason) to post their own posts, just like all full-time contributors are able to, whatever they want/whenever they want. (nothing “hateful” is one guideline we have. more on this once you contact us).

Reviews Editor:

We’re looking for someone to handle our Reviews categories. Much of this will be book reviews. But we’re also after movie reviews. Reviews of art installations. Reviews of trees. Reviews of concerts. Reviews of dog shows. Reviews of tea rooms and ice parlors.

The position would entail handling incoming submissions, soliciting reviews and drafting up call-for-submissions posts.

Would be nice if this person has some experience with WordPress and some skill in the use and manipulation of images to go into posts.

Besides handling Review posts this person will also be able (within reason) to post their own posts, just like all full-time contributors are able to, whatever they want/whenever they want. (nothing “hateful” is one guideline we have. more on this once you contact us).

Besides ice cream (I know, I know, ice cream’s been mentioned enough in this post already) and the glamour that naturally comes with being part of the Queen’s team we cannot, unfortunately, offer any actual, monetary compensation.
